Sell launched XPS 15z laptop
Dell has announced the launch of the new XPS 15z laptop, which claims to be the thinnest 15-inch PC on the planet, and the first in a series of first in a series of upcoming thin "z" laptops under the Inspiron and XPS brands to come this year.
Powered by Intel i5 2410M (2.3 GHz) or i7 2620M (2.7 GHz) dual core processors, the notebook runs on Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium and features an optional 15.6-inch Full HD display, an optimized touchpad, a backlit chicklet-style spill-resistant keyboard and an optical drive.
The Dell XPS 15z device comes with standard mobile Intel Sandy Bridge processors and supports 4GB standard memory, expandable to 8GB with 750GB of hard disk storage space. Other features include a 1.3-megapixel webcam, dual-array digital microphones and stereo speakers.
The screen size is 15.6 inch with a 1080p resolution. Standard battery life is listed as up to 8:22 hours. With Intel’s My Wi-Fi technology, the notebook acts as a Wi-Fi hotspot for other devices.
Dell XPS 15z seems to be a direct response to the 15-inch MacBook Pro with almost similar thickness, weight and aluminium finish. At 2.51kg, the new XPS 15z measures less than 1-inch (0.97-inches) at the thickest point with a clean and polished design, posing a luxurious look.
It includes Nvidia GeForce GT 525M with 1GB or 2GB of graphics memory, Nvidia 3DTV Play capabilities and Nvidia Optimus technology, which switches the notebook into power-saving mode, to extend battery life up to eight hours.
With built-in Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity as well as optional Intel Wireless Display, the thin XPS 15z lets you wirelessly stream videos and photos from the XPS 15z to an HDMI-equipped TV. The exclusive “Dell Stage” user interface makes it even easier to share music, photos and videos.
Dell believes the XPS 15z fills a gap between business-rugged laptops designed for road warriors and stylish multimedia notebooks with powerful processors and graphics.
